Style: Philly Sour with Hallertau Blanc.
Philly sour is a new yeast strain brought to us by the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. This yeast not only produces lactic acid, but also alcohol and is hop tolerant. Usually, we would need a separate bacteria strain to sour the beer before we add regular yeast to create the alcohol but this strain does it all. We brewed a simple blonde ale and let the yeast do the work. We lightly dry hopped it with Hallertau Blanc.
