With a career that spans decades, Mick has established himself as an in-demand studio producer at his own Lake House Productions, where he nurtures emerging artists. His collaborative work includes notable projects with Randy Bachman, contributing to albums like the critically acclaimed “By George,” and achieving Gold and Platinum status for his involvement in “Bachman & Turner (Live in New York City 2010).” Throughout his career, he has received multiple awards, including three gold awards and an independent album award, and has written music across various genres, from country to smooth jazz.
Mick’s versatility shines through in his extensive performance history. He has played upright bass at the prestigious Montreal Jazz Festival and appeared in the film “The Campaign” alongside Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. His involvement in playing the halftime show for The Grey Cup, Canada’s Super Bowl, further demonstrates his wide-ranging appeal.
Throughout his career, Mick has collaborated with a plethora of legendary artists, including jazz superstar Laila Biali, Grammy Award-winning R&B diva Melanie Fiona, and rock icons like Sammy Hagar and Don Felder. He has shared the stage with a remarkable lineup of musicians, from The Doobie Brothers and Pat Benatar to Aerosmith and Guns ‘n Roses.
In addition to his work with Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Mick leads several tribute shows, including “Billy & Elton – The Legacy,” “Simon & Garfunkel: A Musical Celebration,” and “Lennon & McCartney – In Their Own Words & Music.” His entertaining performances also include dueling pianos with partner Andrew Johns in “A&M Grands,” and he has created corporate entertainment favourites like “Cease & Desist.”
Mick’s commitment to giving back is evident in his founding of the Down Syndrome Research Foundation’s Music in Motion Workshop, which fosters musical camaraderie among children and young adults with Down Syndrome and other developmental disabilities. He has also traveled extensively to entertain military troops worldwide, most recently visiting Latvia to support troops stationed there during the Russia/Ukraine conflict.
